Dr. Cooper Van Kooten

Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Cooper Van Kooten, DC, is the founder and owner of The Fort Performance & Chiropractic. He was born and raised right here in Fort Smith, where he attended Greenwood High School. Dr. Van Kooten played baseball at Greenwood, earning All-Conference, All-State, and Conference Player of the Year honors.
He went on to play four years of college baseball at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Van Kooten then completed a 3.5-year doctoral program at Parker University in Dallas, Texas, where he also spent his early years practicing as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Throughout his career, Dr. Van Kooten has developed a passion for true evidence-based care focused on human performance, recovery, and rehabilitation. He has provided treatment for athletes who compete — or have competed — professionally in the NFL, MLB, PGA, Olympics, and more.
In addition to working with high-level athletes, Dr. Van Kooten treats a wide variety of patients ranging from active adults and fitness enthusiasts to individuals dealing with chronic pain, as well as those simply looking to move better and live healthier lives.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Van Kooten enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He enjoys playing golf, disc golf, pickleball, and many other sports in his free time. He is also a die-hard Arkansas Razorback fan and always enjoys watching games with family and friends.
Dr. Van Kooten remains passionate about continually advancing his clinical knowledge to provide patients with the most effective and evidence-informed treatment options available.
